Hello from Atlanta.
If you’re reading this page, you’re paying far too much attention to the non-fiction behind the fiction. But, since you’re here…
T.R. Woodman is a pseudonym. The initials are really mine and Travis is my real first name. Woodman is also real, so I guess that makes it a pseudo-pseudonym.
I’m from Colorado, my wife is from Texas, my kids are from Russia and we all live in Georgia. There isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t feel humbled by the miracle of how all that came to pass.
I have always been a writer, but I got distracted along the way. In college, I studied something that was pretty much the opposite of creative writing, and I consequently spent several years doing very serious work for very serious people. As it turns out, I’m pretty good at it, so I still do some consulting for those very serious people, but storytelling is a lot more fun.
My writing has been influenced by many things, but especially by the books I read as a kid. By far, my favorite author of all time is Roald Dahl. Of any storyteller, I have to give him the most credit for sparking in me a love for reading, and chocolate.
I love 80s pop culture, and I think that decade ranks as one of the greatest in history for film, television, music and teen culture … playing Tempest in the arcade with Tom Sawyer blasting on the Walkman … catching Breakfast Club on the big screen … grabbing a New York slice and an Orange Julius in the food court … yup, awesome.
Well, that’s probably enough about me. But before you go … join my mailing list. If you do, I’ll keep you up-to-date on new releases, book deals, and free book offers. You’ll also receive exclusive content like bonus chapters that’s only available to subscribers.
All the best, Travis
